You are invited to join a conversation to explore how we can
reimagine environmental education in the Puyallup Watershed.

As we face increasingly complex local and global environmental challenges, there is a need to develop innovative, cross sector approaches to environmental education (EE) to change how people understand, participate, and act. Time, effort and a focus on creativity will be needed to develop these new approaches. We are looking for broad participation at this gathering to help us understand the challenges and needs of our Watershed and of those who call this Watershed home. Our conversation will include the successes and inadequacies of current approaches to EE, ideas for making EE relevant to a more diverse audience, and an overview of some innovative approaches that are emerging. We will pull themes from EECOI's 2017 community forum and identify relationships for ongoing collaboration. Children are welcome.
Please RSVP by November 26th.

Next Steps: A cohort of individuals who are interested in diving deeply into the creative process of reimagining EE in the Watershed will meet three times in early 2019 with a goal of using the insights from this first meeting to create prototypes for future work. In May, we will convene a larger group to share our learnings, the prototypes that we have developed, and solicit feedback about approaches that the EECOI might support in the future. If you are interested in learning more about these future gatherings please contact eecoi@pwi.org.
