Tuesday, August 27th - Media and the Environment
Join us as we welcome Ellen Moore from UW Tacoma for a discussion of the media’s coverage of the Dakota Access Pipeline. She’ll touch on social media, tribal perspective, and the impact of this environmental justice movement.
Who: You! Anyone interested in environmental learning. What: A community of practice for learners and educators in the Puyallup River Watershed. We are a peer-facilitated group that: · shares resources, · tries new teaching strategies, · discusses problems of practice, and · dreams up new partnerships.
This community of practice is a part of the Environmental Education Community of Interest (EECOI). When: 4th Tuesday of each month, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Where: Tacoma Nature Center (1919 S. Tyler St in Tacoma) Invite a friend and pass this along! No RSVP is necessary.
Participate in PLACE gatherings and earn free Washington State approved clock hours. 3 clock hours available for every two sessions attended.
