There is a new PLACE in the watershed.

Join us to Practice, Learn And Connect to the Environment.

Tuesday, February 25th - Using LGBTQ+ Inclusive Language
Educators can unintentionally alienate LGBTQ+ learners when using certain terms for groups, individuals, and the concepts they teach. Together we will explore ways that this can happen, and then we’ll discuss a newly-developed inclusive language guide that includes a number of alternatives for some of the most commonly-used phrases.

Who: You! Anyone interested in environmental learning.

What: A community of practice for learners and educators in the Puyallup River Watershed. We are a peer-facilitated group that:

·        shares resources,

·        tries new teaching strategies,

·        discusses problems of practice, and

·        dreams up new partnerships.

This community of practice is a part of the

Environmental Education Community of Interest (EECOI).

When: 4th Tuesday of each month, 5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

Where: Tacoma Nature Center (1919 S. Tyler St in Tacoma)
